The Saint Mel Ministry of Consolation reaches out to the families of the parish who know the sorrow of a recent death. A Consolation Minister (a fellow St. Mel parishioner) contacts the family of the deceased to offer support, and to assist in the planning of the Mass of Christian Burial. The Consolation Minister also attends and assists at the Mass of Christian Burial. On All Souls Day, families are invited back to a special Mass in remembrance of their loved one who passed away during the past year.
