We are happy to welcome your family to our Religious Education program and look forward to supporting your child’s faith journey.
Our program serves children in grades 1 through 8 who attend public school. Students build a relationship with God, learn the Catholic faith, and grow more comfortable participating in Mass and parish life. They also prepare to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Class Schedule
Grades 1–5: Wednesdays, 3:30–5:00 PM
Grades 6–8: Wednesdays, 6:30–8:00 PM
Classes are held from September through May and generally follow the public school calendar.
Registration and Tuition
Registration is open for the upcoming school year. To enroll, please complete the registration form below.
Tuition is as follows:
- 1 child: $150
- 2 children: $200
- 3 or more children: $225
Payment is due after registration is submitted.

Payment Options
- Check: Payable to St. Mel Religious Education. Mail to the St. Mel Rectory, Attn: Office of Faith Formation. Include your child’s name.
- Zelle: Send to faith@stmels-queens.org. Include your child’s name in the memo.
- Cash: Drop off at the St. Mel Rectory in an envelope labeled Attn: Office of Faith Formation. Include your child’s name.
Required Documents
To complete registration:
- New students must submit a Baptismal Certificate
- Transfer students must provide a letter from their previous program confirming completed years and any sacraments received
