The role of an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is to assist the priest in distributing the Holy Eucharist during the celebration of Mass. Extraordinary Ministers are scheduled to serve at a specific Mass or service in the church, and do so in a meaningful and efficient manner. They receive training by attending workshops, and through the guidance of Mass Coordinators. Ministers also bring Holy Communion to our parish home-bound.
Lectors /Readers are scheduled to proclaim the Word of God (Sacred Scripture) at Sunday and daily liturgy. In addition, the Lector reads the General Intercessions at each Mass which include a list of names of our parishioners who are sick and who have recently died. One must attend a workshop prior to being installed in this ministry.
